Cricket 07 is a cricket simulation computer game developed by HB Studios and published by Electronic Arts under the label of EA Sports. It is available for Windows and PlayStation 2. The game was released in the United Kingdom on 24 November 2006 and in Australia on 14 November 2006. The cover art for Cricket 07 features England and Lancashire cricketer Andrew Flintoff, and the Australian release cover pictures The Ashes urn with the Australian and English flags behind it. This is the most recent cricket game published by EA Sports.

This edition of the game, released days before the beginning of The Ashes comes in a 2CD pack. The installation is straight forward and usual EA Sports setup. There is nothing extraordinary here. Once the game is installed, you get down to the business and a serious one at that. You’ll be greeted with another customary EA Sports Cricket interface. No shocks here and no visible changes from the last edition either. The interface is good, clean, simple and easy to navigate though sometimes you get the feeling that there’s no way you can reach certain parts with that keyboard of yours. It is indeed frustrating but the good old mouse comes to the rescue.

If you want to try a different sports game, then you should check out EA SPORTS Cricket 2007. I understand this game is very popular in England and Australia. It is somewhat similar to baseball. Each team has 11 players in the field and you need to hit the ball using a cricket bat and score a run. In this edition, I like that there are lots of licensed teams that you can use and play with. For me, the graphics are good but not that striking. On the other hand, the game’s sound is pretty decent. Moreover, I find its gameplay quite complex at first. The controls are a bit hard and you really need to be accurate and have the proper timing in order to hit the ball. Also, I like its World Championship mode. It allows you to compete with teams of other countries for the world cup title. All in all, EA SPORTS Cricket 2007 is a fine game that provides intense matches and superb gaming experience.
